SUNNY PATH

Description

Sunny Path allows you to create sun path diagrams. This application calculates the sun path and display its position for a specific latitude, date and time. You can also create shading masks to simulate sunlight in a place by taking into account its environment. This application also offers a map that provides information on any location.

Note: Except for the map, all the times presented in this application are not local times but Apparent Solar Times (AST).

Definition

Solar elevation (°): It is the angle between the sun and the horizon, and varies between 0° and 90°.

Solar azimuth (°): It is the sun direction on the {North, Est, South, West} dial, and varies between -180° and 180°.

Shading masks: Shading masks are physical elements that prevent the sunrays from getting through. These elements are buildings, trees, a distant mountain etc. On the sun path diagram, they are represented by their elevation (°) and azimuth (°).

Functions

Location: In order to display the sun path for your phone's position, you need to let Sunny Path use your location information by enabling Wi-Fi and mobile network location.

Map: The map allows to know sunrise and sunset times at any place and any day of the year by creating markers. These markers display other information such as latitude and longitude.
